Pink, Day 21: Jenny, ohhhh Jenny... Joy ohhh Joy?

Well dreams wanted to start but I dosed myself with a ton of coffee to keep me awake.  I am perfectly fine at present.

I got to Viridian City Gym but the door was closed, so I tried calling my Uncle Gio.  He responded this time (what was going on with his phone?).  I asked him if he was all right and why he wasn't at his Gym.  He said he had had to tend to an important operation and was currently sorting it out.  I heard some loud bangs in his background and questioned him about it.  All he said was that everything would be okay and he assured me the Viridian Gym would be open in due time.

I asked him about the camp guy and woman and the weird old man.  Uncle Gio groaned.  He explained they were just idiots that worked for him and that he would deal with them later.  Never mind.  I told Uncle Gio that I would come back soon to Viridian Gym and for now, I would head to Pewter City and beyond, waiting for his call to say he was back at the Gym.  It was about time I got a new badge.  Cyan was taking over both Purple and me.

I said my goodbyes to my Uncle and started for the next Pokémon Gym.  On my way, some old guy tried to teach me how to capture a Pokémon.  Rather than insult the old man, which is what I was going to do, I ended up stood there watching, letting the old man do his thing.  He said he was glad to have some company and called me "Doctor" many times.  I guess the elderly really are senile.

Getting through Viridian Forest took a long time.  Fortunately, Growlithe was able to set alight most what came our way (those bug Pokémon burn soooo easily).  There was only one trainer who gave me some trouble and that trainer was Bug Catcher George.  It wasn't due to his Pokémons' strength but his constant talking.  That man would not shut up about how much he loved his Chikorita.  He talked about how the other Bug trainers made fun of him for owning a grass Pokémon instead of a bug Pokémon.  George didn't care for them though.  He was proud of his Chikorita.  A bit too proud if you ask me.

Anyways, next I went to Pewter City and for some reason, I ended up at the museum (I must have been tired).  Nearby, a man requested I go to Cinnabar to revive an old fossil called Old Amber.  I took it but thought it was probably some trick to scam me or hurt me.  If not, I would see what I could do with it when I went back to the island.

With nothing else in the city to do (apart from go to a shop that sells rocks, rocks!  Why would anyone in their right mind buy some rocks?), I headed straight for the Pokémon Gym.  The trainer that stood before the Gym Leader was easy work for my Vaporeon, so much that the trainer's Pokémon looked like they had come close to drowning.  Next up was Brock and I was ready for the battle... but nothing could make me ready for what happened next.

Brock knelt before me, took my hand and demanded I go to dinner with him!  The man seemed to beg but at the same time, he didn't listen to my threats to break his neck if he didn't let go.  He dragged me to the closest restaurant, ordered me to sit down and then started singing!  He sang:

"Jenny oh Jenny!"
"Joy ohhh Joy!"
"A one woman man's what I wanna be..."
"But there's two perfect girls for me!"
"And you're one of them!"
"You're the only one!"
"Marry me!"

Suddenly, I got a headache and it made me dizzy.  So much that I nearly fell off my chair.  Brock "saved" me and caught me in his arms.  He was going to kiss me if I didn't move, so move I did, running right out of the restaurant!  Seconds later, Brock appeared before me, begging me to forgive him and informing me I would be pleased with "our next date".  I wanted to punch the man but I couldn't think straight and my headache was getting worse.  I had to sit down by a nearby bench, just to get my balance back.

Brock came to my "rescue", informing me he would do anything to make me comfortable.  He put his arm round me and gave me a glass of water.  Where the it came from I will never know.  It was as if it was teleported into his hands.  I took it and drank all I could then threw the glass at Brock, running away.  My headache wasn't so bad now but now my vision was acting up.  Instead of Pewter City before my eyes, I could see the castle of my dreams ahead and Fool was by my side, looking at me with a smirk on his face.  My mind was going crazy.  A second later, Brock was stood in front of me with worry lining his face.  He muttered something like "Can I do something, my love?" but I couldn't kick him or nod, I just stood there, my view changing each second, noise of war, noise of the city, noise of war, noise of the city, the castle, Brock, the castle, Fool, Brock, Fool, Brock, Fool, Brock!  Everything became a blur and I found myself moments later on the floor, looking up to a very concerned Brock.  He was ready to carry me to the Pokémon Center (because we don't really have hospitals for humans, why I don't know).

I got up and shook my head, dismissing his concern.  My vision stabilized on Pewter City and my headache went away.  I felt somewhat better oddly.    He was not going to have his favourite lady on her feet sick.

I kicked him and demanded we go back to the Pokémon Gym so I could get the Pewter badge.  He complied but not before kissing my hand, kissing my cheek then holding my hand, taking me all the way to the Gym.  Where was Purple when I bloody needed him?!

We got to the Gym and Brock promised me he would go easy on me.  Big mistake.  Vaporeon destroyed his rock Pokémon so quickly, I think I put him in shock.  I think I put his Pokémon in shock and they may have died.  I didn't hang around to check.

Leaving a bewildered Brock, (getting my third badge in the process), I headed towards Cerulean City.  I managed to reach the edge of Pewter before Brock appeared to catch up to me.  He said he didn't wish to look after his family anymore (there was more of him?!).  He was tired of doing his father's job (he had a father?) and wanted to go on an adventure with me to paradise.  I said I didn't care and started walking away from him.  As I went, I heard footsteps.  Brock was following me.

"What if you fall over or something?"  He said with apprehension about my safety.

Well bloody Pokémon ashes!

Hope to see you again soon.
