Cyan, Day 43: My Cave Experience

After leaving the cave and hopefully leaving the invisible Chuck for the rest of my life, I waltzed into the cave as if I owned the place. It was extremely dark in this, and I was only able to see with small hanging lights.

Spelunking in caves has a lot of similarities now that it did when I was just that pathetic little nine-year old 42 days ago. Caves are always dark (duh!), Zubats have stopped getting in my way, but Golbats for some reason have decided to hinder my progress now! Silly things. Other than that, everything seems to be the same.

Walking through the cave, I barely noticed a few ladders (I only began to notice because I fell down one I didn’t see and now there is a bruise on my hindquarters) that seemed to go deeper into the cave. As I carefully (not really) climbed (fell) down them, I did happen to notice a dark rock wall block my progress. Or what I thought was a wall.

With a smack to my just healed body, I was thrown back to the ground, as an Onyx screeched at me. Now, I realized caves will always be my worst enemy. This has happened TWICE! Tossing out Charizard, the beast screeched once more and thrust his head and Charizard head butted him, crushing his rocky skull into a pile of dust. Seeing two more coming, I decided this would be a good time to panic. I took out my bicycle and spend off into the darkness.

The Onyxs followed me as I wheeled my way towards the exit hundreds of yards away. As I got closer to the light, the more vicious they seemed to get, thrashing against the cave walls, causing stalactites to fall from the ceiling and the walls to start collapsing on themselves. Charizard looked frightened as this started to happen, and immediately returned himself to his circular room. Bloody chicken.

I veered off into an S turn as the rocks fell from the ground. A man passed me on his bike, screaming at me to “Smell ya later, RED!” My name wasn’t Red, and that jerk almost took me out, but he had done something better than I could. Escape. I slammed on my brakes as the exit closed in on me.

I was trapped, and the Onyxs were becoming more vicious. This is when Rhydon was supposed to shine. Tossing him out, he grabbed one Onyx by it’s scalp, and smashed it into the other one. The giant horn on his snout began to drill into it, and I cringed at what seemed to imply blood(rock?)shed. The Onyxs were incapacitated, but I was stuck. Staring at Rhydon, I grinned and hugged his massive leg. What a champ!

My rocky hero is now drilling me a way out. So, I think I’m stuck with the rocks tonight. Although if I see that jerk on his bike again, I am going to beam him in the face.
