Pink, Day 24: The Bridge And Brock.

"Wanted: Cyan Gitors.  Reward: 20,000 pd.  Age Nine.  Short.  Wears a cap."

It was the first thing I saw in Cerulean City.  A wanted poster of Cyan.  I almost wanted to laugh until I read what they were saying he did.

"This person is wanted, dead or alive for the crimes of murder, breaking plant pots and money theft."

So Cyan was a murderer.  Well Purple really knew how to pick his rivals (this is sarcasm).  Ahh Purple, at this rate, I wasn't ever going to find out about the Rayquaza.  I suppose this was my fault really since I had pretty much gone off on my own.  Never mind.

Brock had finally awoken and was leaning on Machamp to get by.  He had a lot of cuts and bruises and didn't have the energy to be passionately in love with me.  All was well in my opinion.

The first place I wanted to go to was the Pokémon Gym to check out the Leader there but Brock insisted he wanted to be taken to the Pokémon Center.  I told him I would wait outside but he begged me to enter.  Maybe I should have left him to die.

The Nurse Joy there asked me to help Brock to bed and told me to help fetch water and food.  I wasn't a nurse, it wasn't my job.  Instead, I went over to the counter to wait to be served.  I wanted my Pokémon healed right this instant.  However, the Nurse Joy was adamant that I help and that she wouldn't heal my Pokémon beforehand.  What choice did I have?  I helped the Nurse Joy help Brock and after the Nurse Joy was satisfied that Brock was all right, she healed my Pokémon.  Soon, I was allowed to leave and almost did a jump for joy as I left.

So at last, I was able to get to the Pokémon Gym.  When I got there though, the Gym Leader was nowhere to be found.  I asked the women there (who said they were her sisters and could take her place but didn't really want to so they made me have to find Misty), and they said I just missed her and that she had gone over to Bill's house.  To get there, I had to go over a bridge called the Nugget Bridge and get pass a ton of trainers.  I think the women were just trying to get rid of me.  I couldn't figure out why though.  I guess that respect run had gone.  Probably for the best.

I walked to the Nugget Bridge and saw five trainers who stood apart from each other, staring in opposite directions.  No matter how I went across, I had to fight all the bloody trainers.  The first one was pretty easy to defeat, as was the second and third.  The fourth was some trouble and the fifth took some doing but I beat him.  When I did, the trainer said I had to go to their boss to get my prize for crossing the bridge.

I found their boss just ahead.  He was about to give me the prize but instead decided to battle me... and I lost.  My Pokémon were just too tired from the first five fights that when it came to this one, they couldn't keep going.

Now the usual rule is that I black out (I mean white out, whatever) as my Pokémon are unconscious, and I nearly did that, but lo and behold, Brock came to my "rescue" (I guessed I needed the help this time) and healed my Pokémon with a load of Super Potions (they really are super) and some Revives.  With this, I beat the boss trainer and won a nugget.  A nugget!  A nugget made out of pure gold.  I had bloody gold!  Wooooott!  What did I do with this exactly?

Now where the hell was Misty hiding?

Hope to see you again soon.
