Pink, Day 49: Silver.

He stood like a giant with a shock of red hair like the blazing fire on a Charizard's tail.  His stance shined with prowess and cunning, the likes I had never seen.  Truly, this young man was born to be the ultimate champion of Pokémon!  This legend's name was Silver.  Not only was he my cousin but he was also Uncle Gio's son.  A son of a true prodigy.

When we met, he greeted me swiftly and dismissively, thinking I was only a worker at the Pokémon Gym.  But when Uncle Gio introduced me to him, he hugged me tight and beamed (not a psybeam, a happy face beam).  "Pink McQueen!  I hear you are catching all sorts of Pokémon!  Mind if I have some?  Family shares, you know that?"

Uncle Gio shook his head and Silver didn't speak further.  Instead, he was taken to a room where Uncle Gio talked to him, one on one.  When Silver exited, his face was bright red with embarrassment and he did his best not to be noticed by anyone.

Uncle Gio came up to me and explained the situation.  "He's my son and I expect him to be able to get Pokémon and badges with ease like I did when I was a child, yet here he is with not a Pokémon or a badge in sight."  He shook his head and then smiled at me.  "Whereas you are doing better than I could ever have hoped for."

During the day, I kept to my wheelchair and took my time relaxing and thinking about things.  Mewtwo has kept me company some of the time, making sure I'm all right.  Respect.

Later that day, when the sun was dozing in the sky, ready to surrender to the moon's will, I went to my bedroom, thinking it best to have an early night, but when I got there, Uncle Gio awaited me.

"Haven't you forgotten something?" he asked, smiling.

The Pokémon League!  No, that wasn't what I was forgetting.  Weird.

Uncle Gio had a surprise in store for me, and he escorted me to the window, presenting his gift.  It was a helicopter!

"You're too sick to travel on a Pokémon," started Uncle Gio, "so, I had this prepared.  In the morning, you'll travel to the Pokémon League and begin your quest.  Now take care and sleep well."

I really love my Uncle Gio.

Welcome to the Pokémon Center.  Please, die.

Hope to see-to see-to see, come and see, don't look, don't see, don't cry, don't run, stay, and look at me.  Watch.  Wait.  See how I leave.

Tap that? Tapping? Tap tap tap. Tap tap tap. Pretty little fly. Why does she cry? Caught in a web. Soon she'll be... eaten. That's what they say.

Tap tap tap. Tap tap tap.
