Hello, and welcome to the Pokémon Center .
We restore your tired Pokémon to full health!
The four poster bed is soooooooo comfy! I love it! And I haven't had any weird dreams! Yays!
Sometime during my sleep, a person had brought in a tray with toast and eggs and a pot of tea. Nom nom NOM! There were also some clothes for me. A cool black outfit with leather gloves and a cute black hat. I put them on and examined myself in a nearby mirror. I looked... different. Couldn't put my finger on it. Maybe it was the clothes. My hair was certainly different. It was a darker shade of pink. I was sure of it. Nah, I'm just imagining things.
When I was done, I left the room and stepped out into the underground of the Pokémon Gym. There were people rushing about here and there, many in black outfits like my own or they wore laboratory white coats. It was a lot busier than yesterday.
I searched the place for my Uncle Gio and ended up asking a passing man for where he could be. The man replied that Giovanni was in the Gym ready to face a challenger in a three on three match. The man added he could take me with him as he was going to watch it with some technicians.
Led by the man, I saw many people were going in the same direction. Battles here must be really exciting things. Perhaps people didn't battle here often or perhaps my Uncle Gio was the most awesome ever in the world. I bet it was the latter.
Soon, I entered a room with a dozen computers and about thirty people tending to them. Across the wall were large screens showing different angles of the Pokémon Gym battlefield. Uncle Gio stood proudly and confidently with Mewtwo before him. I gasped when I saw who the challenger was. It was none other than Purple Gitimall. How did he manage to get here so fast? Last I heard, he had no badges. He certainly had moved quickly if he was already going for the eighth Pokémon Gym. Purple always impressed me, unless he was doing something stupid. Then he didn't impress me. Purple didn't always impress me.
"Would you like a drink, Lady Pink?" asked an elderly man in a black waistcoat and white gloves, holding a silver tray with tall glasses. I took one and smiled. There was that respect again. It probably had something to do with my Uncle Gio. I was his niece. Yay for convenient family relations!
The drink tasted funny and I found myself slightly swaying. I felt good, almost invincible. I really liked this drink. The elderly man said that if I needed anything more, I was only to ask for Alfred. What a nice man.
There was a silence shared by the people in the room as all watched the screens where Purple and Uncle Gio were ready to begin. There was excitement in the air and high expectations. Part of me wanted Purple to get his badge but the other part wanted my Uncle Gio to win. Some other thing in my head wanted to----stop stop stop stop him him him----got a little headache. Weird. I discovered myself crouching on the floor, so I got up with the help of a concerned technician. Insisting I was all right, I turned to inspect the screens and there I spotted Mewtwo looking at the cameras, staring at me. Suddenly, my headache went away. Weird.
The battle commenced!
Rather than start with Mewtwo, Uncle Gio threw out a Nidoqueen. In return, Purple released his favourite Pokémon, Koff Koff. When a bell sounded they began to fight! Each Pokémon did well, yet very soon, Koff Koff was the victor. What a trooper. It was then when I noticed Purple's arm was bloody. What in Lugia's name had he done to himself?
Koff Koff's reign soon ended when Uncle Gio brought out a Rhydon. The horny Pokémon used an attack called Giga Drill Breaker or something followed by picking up a piece of the ground and throwing it at Koff Koff. Poor Weezing. Still, I was happy my Uncle Gio was doing well. And Purple too of course. In all, I was proud of both of them.
Eventually, three of Purple's Pokémon were defeated and he looked to be at a loss as to what to do.
Uncle Gio said something to Purple and the screens went black for a second and there was a noise, the same noise that occurs when Pokémon are healed at the Pokémon Center ----the noise I loved----loved? What... where am I? Uncle Gio, that's right. Battling. Yes.
Again, the combat began, though this time, Mewtwo stepped forth, acting as Uncle Gio's only Pokémon. The people in the room started zooming in on Mewtwo with the cameras, and some statistics on the screen showed up, displaying Mewtwo's prowess in a digital format. I never really understood what the numbers meant. Why was 225 strength a good thing? It didn't make sense to me.
In swift succession, Purple's Magmar (not sure how he managed to get one of those) and his Koff Koff were defeated by Mewtwo's attacks. Angry, Purple tossed out his last Pokéball and out came his MissingNo. Suddenly, the screens went black and there was a loud buzzing that struck the room like a swarm of Beedrills. Alarms went off, the computers started to shake with electric shooting out of them and everyone fell to their knees, holding their ears. The lights started to flicker on and off and after a few seconds, the screens came back on. Each one bore a plain screen of blue. Some people tried to access the computers, pressing this button and that but nothing seemed to work. What had happened? Why was everything breaking? I tried to get up to see if I could get to the battlefield and make sure Uncle Gio and Purple were all right, but my legs wouldn't move. My body was paralyzed and I slumped onto the floor, darkness smothering my sight. I wonder how many times I've passed out now. I was sure this was bad for my health.
Here are your Pokémon.
We hope to see you again soon!
