Pink, Day 53: Bang bang, I hit the ground.

PokéEarth.

This is where I was born.

And this is where I died.

...

On second thought, that was probably too dramatic.  Maybe I should have gone for, "Life is like a box of Rare Candies, you never know which one you're gonna get, but damn, you know you'll level up or be kidnapped by a bunch of Nurse Joys and Chanseys".  On this occasion, I got the latter.

They attacked this morning, bashing the door down and dragging me out of bed (I was in a guest room at the Pokémon League, sleeping in a guest bed - they're not as good as Uncle Gio's four-poster beds).  They were quick and before I knew it, I was tied to a chair.  Tied to another bloody chair!  Of all the bloody things to bloody happen in this bloody place!

Fortunately for me, my Pokémon were conveniently training nearby, and when they saw I was in trouble, they hurried to defend me.  Machamp took down a pair of Nurse Joys, throwing them out of a window.  Haunter scared a Chansey away and defibrillator-ed another with his convenient Thunderbolt attack.  And Fluttershy and Dratini double-teamed a duo of Chanseys.

They bought me enough time to use Vaporeon to Surf me out of the bedroom and out of the chair, and when I did that, Aerodactyl gave me a lift up to the roof.  In public, maaaan.

Presently, I'm writing on the PDA while I hide away behind a pair of chimney pots where some guy is singing some song while tapping his feet.  Very quickly, Aerodactyl scared him away, leaving me on my own with my prehistoric Pokémon.

Except...

I wasn't alone.  Not only was Aerodactyl with me but Chansey as well.  My Chansey.  Nurse Joys have Chanseys.  That's why I have one.  Is it?  When did this happen?  Why do I carry seven Pokémon?  Isn't it against the rules?  Isn't it wrong...?

Chansey walked up to me and smiled.  I smiled back.  I placed Aerodactyl in his Pokéball and stood up from my hiding place.  Chansey had a glass of something for me.  I drank it willingly.  I wasn't sure why.  It tasted funny.  Metallic.  Like... like...

A Nurse Joy stood just a little distance away, and she folded her arms while she watched me.  She was waiting for something it seemed.  But for what?

I looked at the glass.  There was a little bit left in the bottom.  I recognised what it was.

...

Blood.
