Cool Andrew ♂, Day 46: Into the Woods

I went to Viridian Forest because I wanted to live deliberately, I wanted to live deep and suck out all the marrow of life, to put to rout all that was not life and not when I had come to die discover that I had not lived.

Or I’m just passing through to try and find Lickitung, whichever you like.

This whole area is a bit more confusing than I originally thought it to be.  I’m not having much luck with any of these labyrinths that seem so prevalent in Kanto, though perhaps a straight binge doesn’t do much for one’s sense of direction.  Either way, I’ve been walking around here for two straight days now and I can’t find heads or tails of an entrance or an exit.  I need to stay positive!

Keeping on the up-and-up is proving a little harder than I thought it might though.  These woods must be out to get me or something.  Everywhere I go there are little kids standing around, insisting that I battle them.  I explain that I’m not a trainer anymore, but they simply ignore me!  Are they just assuming that everyone who walks through here is a trainer!?  The nerve!

Beyond that, the inhabitants of the forest haven’t been the kindest to me.  I didn’t get to post anything last night because a roving band of Metapods had me hold up in a tree, fearing for my life.  I’m not sure what they could have done to me, but I shudder to think of the consequences.  I had Pincer crack one of them open between his mighty mandibles, but the thing just split apart and out came a Butterfree!  Since when does Pokémon evolution work like that?  Running in circles for a few hours while some flying git attempts to cover you in poisonous powder is not my idea of a good time.

By this time I’m exhausted, hungry and thirsty.  My legs feel like they might detach from my body at any second, and each step causes a popping in my hips.  Beyond that, my body is aching for a good poke.  My mouth is bone dry, I shake constantly, sometimes my vision goes blurry and I have to catch my breath before it will correct itself, and  I have to watch my hands at all times lest I find them sneaking into my pack to grab at the treasures within.  Hopefully the withdrawal doesn’t get any worse.  Simply dumping my bag would be easy, but there are so many children around.  I must keep on though, Lickitung is waiting for me!

How do you get out of here!?

Miserable= the status quo,
Cool Andrew ♂
