Cool Beauty Trainer Andrew♂ ♀, Day 16: Power Corrupts

It’s finally happened.  Ever since I first began training I’ve had this one goal in mind, and today was the day!
Lickitung woke me up this morning with her hand on my bare arm.  Rolling over in my bed, I was met by her shimmering black eyes staring at me.  Rubbing the sleep from my vision, it took me a second to process her look.

I let out a laugh of surprise, and wrapped Lickitung in a massive embrace.

She’d finally done it!  She’d finally gotten the chance to learn Rollout!  This mean, of course, that Lickitung could finally evolve into Lickilicky!

Overcome by the excitement, I danced with Lickitung around the room, swaying her to-and-fro with the music blaring in my head.

Setting her down, Lickitung cast me a solemn glance.  I picked up on it and kneeled down to be near her.  I asked her what was wrong, but she wouldn’t look me in the face.  I demanded an answer, but all she would give were some forlorn sighs and a slight blush along her cheeks.

That’s when I realized it: she didn’t want to evolve.  I was about to assure her that nothing would change once she evolved, but then I thought about it.  Lickilicky would be a lot larger, they usually averaged about 300 lbs, and much taller too.  Lickitung crawled on the bed and rolled around.  She wouldn’t be able to do that as a Lickilicky, the bed might give way.
I assured her that her physical appearance wouldn’t affect the way I felt about her, but then she laid a claw on her brow, showing that her thoughts were mixed up.  Was she right?  When pokémon evolve, do their minds change?  I, of course, would still feel the same way; but would she?  That’s what Lickitung had been so worried about.  Both of us were happy with the status quo, and neither wanted things to change.

So do I evolve her?  She’ll continue to get stronger without doing so, but I need that strength.  Don’t I?
While I mused on the topic, Lickitung went off to the bathroom to throw up once again.  She’s been doing that a lot recently, though she refuses to go to the Pokémon Center except for quick healings.  I worry about her, but she’s just been so adamant.

Cyan should be here soon, as much as I hate to do this, I’m forced to push this decision back to another day.

So many changes,
Cool Trainer Andrew♂
